Beginning a new year is a perfect time for reflection. Looking back at significant experiences that brought us to the present moment can be a most therapeutic process. It allows us to see where we are now, how we arrived at this point in time and what plans we can formulate to get us to where we truly want to be.
Often times creating a plan is met with resistance. Listening and working with this resistance requires patience, courage and a conscious willingness to grow and evolve to a higher level of awareness. Obstacles and resistance are there for our growth and determination to move forward and learn from their presence.
Listening is a form of trusting in the unknown. I encourage you to embrace your own sense of the unknown, to intuit and cultivate a personalized practice of listening to where life is nudging you, calling you and where resistance is experienced. I invite you to listen to the part of you that life is trying to awaken within you.
In order to listen we have to be quiet. Take time to be quiet and still. Make time to meditate and practice mindfulness …just follow your breath to begin. Distractions will inevitably happen, that just is part of the growth curve. This world is full of distractions and our mission is to pay attention to what truly matters for each and every one of us. Happy New Year and make 2015 a memorable one!
